| Double Your X10 Codes: Dave Rye You can double the number of X10 codes from 256 to 512 by using a combination of Lamp Modules and Appliance Modules: Appliance Modules do NOT respond to dim and bright so if you set a Lamp Module to code A1 and also set an Appliance Modules to A1; you can turn them both on and off by pressing 1 ON or 1 OFF on an X10 Maxi Controller set to Housecode A. However, if instead of pressing 1 ON, you press 1 DIM, only the Lamp Module will turn on. Practically speaking this does not necessarily let
you have 512 independently controlled modules in your home (who needs that many anyway?)
but it does let you have a lamp at either side of your bed and have independent (his/hers)
control over them without using up another precious X10 code (a blessing if you are
trying to keep to one Housecode) so you can control EVERYTHING from EVERYWHERE. |
