Why won’t the "Buttons" configuration software run? Nothing happens when I try to configure the remote. What’s wrong?
In most cases, this problem occurs because the X10 Remote Mouse drivers are not installed, or not installed correctly. Go to your "Start" menu, and look under Settings, Control Panel, and then System. From the "System Properties" window choose the "Device Manager" tab. Find the listing for "Mouse" and click on the plus-sign to see what type of mouse is installed. If you don’t see an X10 mouse listed, you need to install the X10 mouse driver. Run the Remote Mouse (or Big Picture) installation program again and follow the instructions on updating the driver for your type of mouse.

How come I can’t control my mouse with the Remote Mouse?
Can you control the computer with your regular mouse plugged into the Mouse Remote Receiver? If so, you need to press the "PC" mode button on the Remote Mouse to get it to work with the PC. Make sure that when you press buttons on the remote that the LED lights up. If it doesn’t, check that the batteries are good and that they are installed properly. If you can’t use your regular (wired) mouse when it is plugged into the Receiver, first make sure the Receiver switch is on (switched towards the sloping end of the Receiver). If this doesn’t solve the problem, you may have a problem with the port the Receiver is connected to. If it’s a PS/2 port, shutting down the computer and restarting can help. Otherwise, call technical support.
