X10 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) 22. Why do I get a slow chime when I arm my security system? Somehow during the installation process there were probably sensors that were installed multiple times. Since each sensor can only occupy one zone at a time, the remaining zones that are installed are "ghost" zones and prevent the PS561 base console from arming. In order to clear up the problem you must unplug the base console from the wall, and remove the battery backup. This will clear out the memory in the PS561 and allow you to re-install all the sensors and remotes. As you re-install the sensors, be careful that you are not tripping the sensor, except to hit the test button, while the console is in the 'install' position. This includes opening a door or window that a sensor is protecting as well as walking in front of a live motion detector. |
