What MP3 players can I use with Boom 2000?
Boom 2000 support the following players:

• WinAmp
• RealJukebox & RealPlayer Plus G2
• MusicMatch
• Liquid Player
• MuzicMan
• RioPort Audio Manager
• DJ2000

We will continue to add players in the future.

Why doesn't my DVD player program show up in the list of players?
At present, Boom 2000 only supports DVD playback through Microsoft's Windows Media Player or the X10-branded media player that is included with the full download of Boom 2000. We will be adding support for the more common DVD players in the near future.

Why won't it play my DVD?
This could happen for several reasons. The first thing to check is that Boom 2000 is working -- if you can control your MP3 player or the Boom display on the screen responds when you press a button on the remote, you're OK. Next, you need to make sure that your PC is updated to run the most recent versions of the Microsoft DirectShow playback drivers. If you're not using Windows 98 Second Edition or Windows 2000, you will need to have installed the Direct Media Upgrade, which is part of the full Boom 2000 download in our Software Download Center. Also, the drivers for your DVD drive need to be updated to support DirectShow playback. Contact the DVD maker or your computer support to obtain the latest drivers.

Boom 2000 won't play DVDs using my Creative Labs DVD Encore DXR2 player, what do I do?
You need to update the Creative drivers to the new versions that suport DirectShow playback. See the Creative web site for Windows 98 & 2000 and Windows 95 drivers.

How do I set up Boom 2000 to work with my MP3 player?
When you run Boom 2000 it will automatically check to see what MP3 players you have installed. Right click in the Boom window and choose "Players" to open the player configuration. Under MP3 you will have a list of players that will include any support players you have installed. Click on the one you want to use and click OK to accept the change. You should now be able to press the "Power" button on the UR51A remote and have this application open so you can control it.

How come my modem does not work when using the Boom2000?
The is most likely a result of the Boom 2000 receiver (MR26A) being connected to a COM port that conflicts with your modem settings. Unless you can change the serial port that the MR26A is attached to, you will have to close Boom 2000 to use your modem.

I’m not receiving any reaction out of the software when I use my remote.

It sounds like you need to customize your player to do this you need to right click on the Boom2000 screen and choose Customize. If you know the exact path of the program you wish to assign to the player, you can type it directly into the text box. If you wish to browse for the program click on the ellipsis button (..). Now with the appropriate player selected in the name list on the left, select the desired function from the scroll list and then select the Use Key checkbox. The remaining options in the section will become available. If the keyboard function you wish to use requires the CTRL; ALT; or SHIFT keys, select their respective checkboxes. Choose the desired key from the pull-down menu. Repeat the process for the remaining keyboard functions you wish to assign.
