How long do the batteries last?

I have a HawkEye (MS12A), HawkEye II (MS13A), or EagleEye (MS14A). Can I disable the dawn/dusk feature?

What are the horizontal and vertical fields of view for these Motion Sensors?
What is the detection range?
Where should I locate the sensors for the best detection?

Are these sensors weather resistant?

Remove the batteries from the unit. Remove all four screws from the back of the unit. Lift the cover off the sensor. On the circuit board inside the unit, look for a component with a red, squiggly line on it (near the center of the circuit board). Cover this component with a piece of electrician's tape. The unit will now be in permanent darkness. Replace the cover and the screws. Note: This procedure will also prevent the unit from detecting motion only at night. Since it is now permanently detecting darkness, it will detect motion at all times.

Sensor's fields of view and detection range

Horizontal FOV: +/- 45 degrees relative to the Normal (90 degrees total)
Vertical FOV: +/- 15 degrees relative to the Normal (30 degrees total)
Detection Range: approximately 20 feet

Sensor Detection vs. Motion Direction

For best detection results, mount the Motion Sensor so the person entering the area will cut across the Motion Sensor's field of view. Do not mount the Motion Sensor near hot or cold sources (i.e. heat vents, air conditioners, direct or reflected sunlight) as this may cause false triggering of the Motion Sensor.
