The amazing FloodCam is a weather-resistant wireless color video camera with built-in 2.4GHz transmitter and motion sensor and attached dual floodlight casing. The FloodCam is activated by the integrated motion sensor so that when someone approaches your home, the floodlights (bulbs not included) come on, turning night into day and the camera catches the startled intruder on video! The camera transmits its picture via a built-in 2.4GHz transmitter, to a Video Receiver (included with Complete Kit) which you connect to a TV anywhere in your home. The FloodCam sends the wireless signals even through walls, up to 100 feet so you can watch and record all the action!

The SECRET behind the FloodCam is the "smart" Built-In Wireless Motion Sensor (see photo on right). The video camera always turns on when motion is detected and the floodlights always turn on when it is dark and motion is detected. (An X10 Transceiver is NOT necessary for this but required for multi-camera applications.)

In a multi-camera setup, the motion sensor sends wireless Radio Frequency (RF) signals to an X10 Transceiver. The Transceiver receives the signals from the Motion Sensor and passes them onto your house wiring. These signals send the information back out to turn off the other cameras or to sound a chime, illuminate hallway lights, etc.

This is a very simple system to install - just a few connections and you're up and running assuming you will use the FloodCam to replace an existing floodlight fixture. If not, you will need to install a wall box and run conduit to it. If you need help installing a wall box and running conduit please contact a local X10 professional installer. Of course, you could accomplish this application using 3-4 other X10 products. YOU CONTROL EVERYTHING: Underneath the FloodCam unit (shown: upper, left) is a hidden control panel (shown: left) that allows you to easily configure all the settings! Set the Channel to the same channel on your Video Receiver. The FLOODLIGHT CONTROL function allows you to detect motion at all times (LIGHT) or only when it gets dark (DARK). Using the TIME DELAY dial you can adjust how long the camera waits to turn off after motion has stopped. The CAMERA MODE switch lets you set how the camera responds to motion and X10 controllers. About the Camera Video Receiver

A Video Receiver is a necessary component of X10's wireless camera systems. With a Video Receiver, you can receive video signals from up to 16 wireless cameras and display them (one at a time) on your TV screen. Alternatively, you can connect a Video Receiver to a VCR to record the video signals or to a PC for computer- or web-based surveillance (USB Video Capture Adapter and software required).

About VCR Commander II & FloodCam Motion Sensor

Use VCR Commander to record "only the action" on your XCam2 video camera, whether you're home or not. Anytime the FloodCam's Motion Sensor are triggered, the VCR Commander System wirelessly enables the appropriate X10 Camera and VCR, and automatically records the activity! No wasting tape!

About the Transceiver

The powerful Transceiver Module is the relay for any Home Automation setup. It allows you to remotely control any household appliance or light that is plugged into an Appliance, Lamp Module, Wall Switch Module or any of our many other lighting and appliances products. Simply plug the Transceiver into any normal wall socket, and using the remote, you have control of your lamps and appliances from across the room - or the other side of the house.

The Remote Chime can also be used with the ActiveHome two way computer interface to chime on the hour.

About the Camera Remote

In wireless multi-camera systems, a Camera Remote is used to switch the camera views that appear on your television, VCR or PC. The Camera Remote is very similar to a standard television remote control, enabling you to "change channels" to see what is happening around your home. Up to sixteen wireless cameras can be controlled with one Camera Remote. Wireless Transceiver required.
