"It Was a Dark and Stormy Night!" "It was a stormy evening as I pulled near my house," Curtis Appalitis starts out.

Thunderstorms had been pummeling his area for over an hour, and things didn’t look as though they would be getting better any time soon. Only sudden and bright flashes of lightning lit the darkness, as the wind violently blew the trees. It was the kind of night that makes the pets take cover under the bed, the kids huddle around their parents, and driving home a real challenge.

When Curtis turned into his driveway, he could see nothing but drops of water pelting the windshield with no regard whatsoever to how hard his windshield wipers were working to keep his view clear. As he pulled in, his Dual Floodlight Motion Monitors turned on. And it’s a good thing they did.

"Much to my surprise," he says, "a huge pine tree had fallen across the driveway. Had it not been for X10's Motion-Activated Floodlights, I would really have messed up my car." "I'm so happy I found motion-activated floodlights," Curtis says.

Motion Monitors work with X10 Modules!

In addition to turning on dual floodlights when the detector picks up motion, the Outdoor Motion Monitor can turn on up to four X10 modules in or around your home based on motion. It also includes a light sensor which can turn up to four additional X10 modules at dusk and off again at dawn. Security and convenience applications for this product are endless. Activate indoor or outdoor lighting, or sound a Remote Chime (not included) to alert you when someone approaches.

The Dual Floodlight Motion Detector is completely weatherproof and can be used with incandescent or halogen bulbs rated for 150W. The floodlights can also be turned on manually from an X10 transmitter. When it is turned on manually, the floodlights stay on and the motion detection is temporarily disabled until the floodlights are turned off from an X10 transmitter.

Scare away intruders and know when someone approaches! Unwanted visitors will leave if lights turn on and chimes (not included) start sounding when they approach your home! The built-in infrared sensor automatically turns on your outdoor floodlights whenever it detects movement within its sensing range. In addition, the Motion Detector safely sends signals over your existing house wiring to control up to 8 different devices inside/outside your home connected to X10 Modules.

Hidden Control PannelAs the days get shorter, the need for outdoor security increases. A burglar or violent person can use the darkness to hide undetected as they sneak up on someone in your family or break into your home.
