Do Dial-type timers do the same as
an X10 system?
No. ActiveHome uses your PC's operating clock to control lights and appliances, versus having to manually set the time multiple times each year
with dial-type timers.
Does my PC need to be on all the
time for ActiveHome to automatically send commands?
No. By downloading the commands into the computer interface module and plugging it into a wall outlet, you can send commands even with the
PC turned off.
Can ActiveHome be used with a
security system?
Both ActiveHome and X10's security kits can be used separately or together to control lights and appliances and help create a safer home and
business environment.
