Depending on which state you live in, any general insurance dealer should be able to hook you up with a cost that is relatively small to carry 2mil in liability, for example. Plus you can check out liability or licensing information with a quick google search or at your local business bureau.

There are basically 2 types of liability insurance::

In Progress Liability

Covers you while you are on site working.

Finished Product Liability

Covers your finished product.

If you are a corporation you will be personally protected by the ccorproate shield in most cases. You might also want to have a disclaimer statement signed by your customer. You can find thses forms in a book by Quicken "legal Business pro.
