Beginning with the VideoSender introduced in 1998, X10.com has
developed simple and powerful products that allow people to watch DVD movies from their PC
on a TV, listen to MP3 tracks from the Internet on a home entertainment system, and send
live video and audio from a mini-color video camera to any TV up to 100 feet away.
Since the Federal Communication Communication opened up the
2.4-gigaghertz bandwidth for consumer products, X10.com has developed products that use
wireless radio signals to send the highest quality of sound and pictures available without
customers having to spend thousands of dollars on new equipment.
Unlike many home networking products that require rewiring and
produce little utility for the average consumer, the 2.4-gigahertz platform is being
rapidly adopted in the consumer electronics market precisely because of its ease of
installation and endless options for operating home entertainment products.
"The work being done with the 2.4-gigahertz platform is
analagous to X10.coms pioneer development of its Powerline Carrier Technology which
has become an X10 industry standard," said Alex Peder, president X10 (USA) retail
sales division. "We believe this new platform has the potential to mean even more to
the development and adoption of cutting edge Wired Home products. "
