Catching Car Prowlers
By Levi Wynnyk |
Having a vehicle broken into is something no one wants to deal with, but after having had several vehicles broken into, I decided to take a stand. I purchased an XCam2 and mounted it on the driveway to watch our vehicles. I then installed a set of X10 Floodlights beside the camera to light everything up at night. I also hooked up a chime inside of the house.
Now when someone comes to the house I can hear the chime and know someone is out there. Then I found that having to turn on the TV or change the inputs to see the cameras could be a bit of a pain, so I picked up a $19.99 6-inch TV and hooked it up to my receiver and left it tuned to the security camera permanently.
Now I can be watching TV and always be able to see my camera. My system was cost effective, offers security for me and my family, and is even fun!
Sincerely,
Levi Wynnyk
