4 Gigabytes of Clear MP3 Music... Right in the Car
Music...
Its everywhere. Its in the grocery store, in the mall, in the house, and in
the car. But what format? You can put it on tape, put it on CD, or the new format, MP3.
MP3s have become immensely popular lately because of their high quality, and their ease
of use. The problem is, theres still not an easy/inexpensive way to use them in
the car. But Mohamed Elmosaly found a way.
Mohamed had wanted an MP3 player for the longest time, so that
he could listen to his favorite MP3 files in the car. But when he priced them, he discovered
that they were incredibly expensive, and they didnt hold that much music. So he started
looking around for a car MP3 player that used a hard drive. But he found that these players
were even more overpriced, and not worth the money.
Thats when a thought struck him. He got an idea of how he could use
MP3 Anywhere to listen to his music... even in
the car. "I have a laptop that I always
take with me," he said, "so I installed BOOM 2000 and the RF receiver. Then I
connected the sound card audio out to a small FM transmitter and I set my radio station to
the appropriate channel. All that was left for me to do was to use the MP3 Anywhere remote
control to start WinAmp."
Thats all it took, and before you could say, "silly Sally sat and
stood and stormed the sound on Sunday," Mohamed was playing his favorite tunes right
there in the car. "That's over 4GB of MP3s," he says triumphantly. "And I have
all that for under $100 thanks to X10!" Thats a great deal! Thats about
one-tenth of what he would pay had he tried even the least expensive car MP3 player.
Thats a great way to save money. And he can create his own play lists
so he wont be shuffling around for another CD while trying to navigate through traffic.
In other words, he can keep his eyes on the road, and his hands on the wheel. Not only did
we save him money, we made his commute a whole lot easier, and safer. Thats what wireless
technology is all about.
