A Ghoulish Game
How would you
like to drive around a hearse for a year? You could look and feel just like the folks on the
popular TV show "The Munsters." Well, two lucky people (and we assume their friends
and families) are going to have that privilege according to Christopher Avell, the creator of
Haunted Hearse Tour of Terror. "Were giving away two haunted hearses for
Halloween," Christopher said. "Both will have a sealed coffin in the back. Our
contestants must drive the hearses for one year (20,000 miles), and once that year is over,
they get to keep the prize in the coffin." Of course one of those coffins doesnt
have any prizes, but rather some unpleasant surprises. Hmm, what could those be?
The Haunted Hearse Tour will be monitored using X10 technology so that the
whole world can watch the winners driving around their hearses. Theyll have 4
XCam2s on the front dashboard, two facing the front
seat passengers and two facing the road. 2 XCam2s mounted on the rear roof, to monitor
any spirit activity in the "coffin area" of the car, and one
NightOwl camera looking out the rear of the car. And of
course all of those will be made available over the internet for the rest of us curious onlookers.
In order to retain Scan
Power, they will use a DC/AC converter. This allows them to plug in all X10 devices as they
would at home. The cameras will use the DC/AC converter. "Yes, so that's DC-to-AC-to-DC
conversion."
So far they have 9000 applicants, and an expected audience of 750,000 who will
view the give-away over the web, and watch the contestants as they try to do simple things...
you know... like parallel parking a hearse. Or backing a hearse out of a driveway. Theyd
better not plan on parking in any "compact" parking stalls. Things could get ugly.
"Using X10 and a Real Haunt were going to get some true Blair
Witch footage here." Christopher said. "No scripts; just real footage."
Then after one year the coffins will be opened and their contents revealed.
That means that we, and everybody else watching the show will have to wait one whole year
to see what the unpleasant surprises are, or what the great prizes are going to be. Well
have to clear some time on our docket to write a story about it when its over.
