Ruben had just such a problem. An intruder broke into his house, trashed the place, and then left. But he didn’t take anything. Once is disturbing enough, but then it happened again. That’s what made it seem so much like a vendetta. If the intruder wasn’t after anything, then why would he create such a mess and then leave empty handed?

"My alarm would sound," Ruben said, "but there was no sign of a forced break-in." There was no sign of a break-in, but there was definitely the aftermath of a break-in. Well, if the alarm couldn’t stop the crook, then there was going to be a need for a very different plan of action. So Ruben hooked up the XCam2 around the house, and prepared to get the perpetrator on tape.

And it wasn’t long before Ruben had what he was looking for. He had his crook, caught in the act, and on videotape. And the criminal even had on a mask to disguise himself. Nor was he aware that he was now being watched. But it wasn’t what you might think. No, it wasn't some guy in a ski mask, instead it was a raccoon. That’s right. The little critter had been breaking into Ruben’s house and looking for some sort of snack.

It was no vendetta at all, just a hungry raccoon that didn’t realize that he was trespassing. Thanks to X10, another crime is solved, and the criminal is safely locked outside where he belongs.
