Baby's Day Out
Wreaking Havoc on Four Legs? Mommy to the Rescue!
Babies are probably the most curious
creatures on earth, and anyone thats ever had one in the house would agree. In just
a split second one of those little hands could be into just about anything, testing it,
hitting things with it, putting it in their mouths, and throwing it at the pets.
Such was the case with little baby Michelle.
Michelle was just at that age where she could crawl around the house at lightning speed,
and before anyone could catch up with her to stop her, she would have hold of the dining
room tablecloth; pulling it off the table and bringing the contents crashing down around
her.
Thats when mom decided it was time to do something, and do it
quickly. She sewed an X10 wireless camera into one
of Michelles hats, and put the battery pack in
a little backpack and strapped it onto Michelle Then she hooked up the receiver to the VCR
and turned on the television so that she could see from Michelles point of view what
would be dangerous throughout the house. Boy was she surprised.
"I saw knickknacks and books on the lower shelves, I saw a row of
stairs that she could fall down. I found cabinets that were easily opened, and stuff just
laying on the floor." Michelles mom was surprised because they
"thought" had done everything they could to baby-proof the house. "But
unless youre the baby, you just never know whats out there to get into."
And now Michelles parents have video of the event as well, so that they can
remind themselves that theres a lot of stuff that one wouldnt consider
dangerous until you see it the way baby sees it. "It was also fun to see the house
from Michelles point of view!" Mom comments.
