Taking Precautions Against Intruders
By Wendy Auman |
Several months ago, there was a string of break-ins in the area I live in. I live in a ground floor apartment and I was worried about someone breaking in through the sliding glass doors on my patio. Last month, someone in a neighboring apartment community was fatally attacked in her apartment. When I read that a profiler had indicated that the suspect may strike again, I decided I had to do something.
I've mounted an X10 EagleEye Motion Detector in my living room. When it detects movement, a lamp is turned on and the X10 Remote Chime is activated. I feel a lot safer now knowing that even if the chime and light aren't enough to scare an intruder away, I will at least have some advanced warning and will be able to call 911 if someone enters my apartment.
Sincerely,
Wendy Auman

Editor's Note: A transceiver and lamp module are also needed. We recommend our Hot Body Detector Kit, which comes with an Eagle Eye Motion Sensor, a Receiver, and a Chime, all for only $39.99. Lamp modules may be purchased additionally for only $12.99.
