Weve all seen those "big" meetings on television. Some of us have even sat through one or two of these types of meetings from time to time. Its the meeting where the lights go down, and someone walks around the room giving a special slide presentation, and we get to watch that presentation on a screen overhead at the front of the conference room. Many of those presentations are made with the help of a software program called PowerPoint.
Kenneth Clark is one of those presenters, and he uses PowerPoint for those presentations. Kenneth found an interesting use for his DVD Anywhere system in conjunction with his PowerPoint presentations. "I found that my DVD Anywhere setup can control a PC-based PowerPoint presentation from the Ultimate Remote (while I'm walking around)," Kenneth says. He used the "Anywhere" part to send audio and video to his TV screen and stereo system.
"Some laptops can put out NTSC, (or you can get an adapter)" Kenneth says. "Then I can walk in, hook up to the existing setup, and walk around controlling the slides" while he does his presentation. This is quite a convenience since it gives him the freedom he needs to move around.
Of course Kenneth says "I am only able to use the DVD Anywhere software to control PowerPoint presentations that have had the "Pack and Go" step done on them." This allows for the step up step down page up page down functions. This is important for changing slides when editing a presentation.
So now Kenneth has free run of the conference room while hes doing his presentations. No matter where he goes, he doesnt have to go running back to the computer to change the slide. No more awkward pauses, or being stuck behind a podium. Kenneth is free to be fascinating while he conducts his meetings.
One request Kenneth has for us is that our next Ultimate Remote allow selections from 00-99 different DVD Anywhere devices. "I have a lot of programs I want to control from my remote." Thats a lot of devices.
And finally Kenneth told us, "This application should be a hit with presenters." We agree.
