Staying in touch can be difficult under the best of circumstances. There are so many things that can impede attempts to get together either for lunch, a drink after work, or just an evening out to catch up. Thats under the best circumstances. But what about under the worst of circumstances?
Michael Henderson and his friend Kimberly have been friends for many years, and theyve "been through thick and thin," as Michael put it. "Kimberly was with me when I had my accident four years ago" Michael says, "and she was with me during my rehabilitation." That accident hes talking about is a bicycle accident. He was riding his bicycle down the street when a car whose driver wasnt paying attention hit him from behind. Michael spent months in the hospital, and is still in intensive physical therapy, though hes finally more mobile. And through it all, his family, and Kimberly and her husband have been wonderful support to him.
Just recently, Kimberly got pregnant. It was actually great news, but Kimberly suddenly had less time. As the pregnancy progressed, things began to get a little complicated and her doctor had her at home most of the time. Needless to say this was frustrating to Michael, who had really wanted to be with Kimberly through her tough times. "We only lived a few miles away, but when youre laid up, you might as well be a million miles away."
But like the old saying goes... "Where theres a will, theres a way." And Michael found the way. "I saw your cameras up on the web, and I thought that would be a great way for us to stay in touch." So Michael purchased the XCam2 for him, and one for Kimberly. And with the help of one of our How2s, he learned how to make the XCam2 his very own webcam. So with that How2, and the help of XRay Vision, both he and her could go up online and see what the other was doing.
"I get to watch her get fat," Michael says. "She keeps telling me shes as big as a house, but I tell her that she cant be any larger than a small condominium. That usually gets a laugh out of her."
Thanks to the XCam2, and a How2, Michael and Kimberly are keeping in touch even though circumstances seem to have tried to prevent that. Michaels able to get the scoop on how Kimberly and her baby are doing, and even though its difficult to get together lately, (even though they are able to once in a while) they are able to stay in touch. "Its almost as if were only a room apart," Michael says. And for that were very glad. Because X10 is doing its best to keep friends and family together no matter what the circumstances.
