One thing that has made America so great is its mobility. We started out as a people on the move. At first from Europe to the Americas, and once we were here, it was another movement from the East to the West. First there were the pilgrims in their boats, then came the pioneers in their covered wagons, and now the RV. In this modern America we can crisscross the country in a matter of hours, or we can take our time and see whatever sights and attractions that may be on the way.
Mr. Tamarkin has a thirty-two foot long motor home that he uses to traverse the country, enjoying this great land of ours. As anyone whos ever tried to drive a motor home knows, its very big, and that means that simple things that car drivers take for granted arent so simple in an RV. For example, backing up. When we jump in our cars, we hop in (fasten our seatbelts hopefully), throw the car in reverse, and were out of there.
Mr. Tamarkin enlisted the help of the XCam2 to help him with those tasks that arent so easy in an RV. "Someone on the email group for motor homes said they got a camera from X10," Mr. Tamarkin said. So Mr. Tamarkin decided to try it out. He ordered 2 XCam2 WideEye cameras and set them up.
"I used one wireless camera pointing out the back window and the other camera I have mounted under the passenger side outside mirror," Mr. Tamarkin says. "I got a 5" AC/DC TV and installed a switch to turn on or off the side camera. "So now I can see what is behind and what is in the blind spot on the right."
Since the TV showed the image reversed from its actual view, Mr. Tamarkin had the TV yoke wires reversed with a switch so now the TV gives the view just the way it is.
Now thats convenient. Theres nothing like getting rid of that blind spot. Especially for a vehicle that size. That not only makes backing up safer, it also makes changing lanes and turning corners easier and safer as well.
Thanks to the XCam2 WideEye, Mr. Tamarkin can save himself a lot of close calls, and maybe even a fender-bender or two. The XCam2 is making America a safer place to travel.
