Strange Noises in the Attic
By John Mayer |
I just purchased one of your 3 camera kits as a startup to a home camera system. I decided that the Ninja Pan and Tilt looked good to so I ordered two of those. Before I got the chance to put up even one camera in its intended location, my wife noticed an annoying noise coming from the attic. She said it sounded like an animal scratching at the ceiling. She haunted me about this for days. Every night when I came home from work she would tell me about these noises. Finally, on my day off, partly to appease her (and prove her wrong at the same time) and partly to demonstrate the capabilities of the camera, I proceeded up to the attic, X10 security camera and Ninja in hand. I put one camera on a Ninja Pan and Tilt in a central location in the attic. Later that day my wife told me she heard the noises, I turned on the TV and, much to my surprise, after adjusting the pan and tilt and "sweeping" through the attic there was our noise: an uninvited squirrel.
It gets better.
I put a trap in the attic to catch the little rascal. But, who wants to drag out a ladder and go up into the attic through the closet every day to check on the trap? You know you won't catch him the first day! Well, I didn't. But after three days of checking with the camera I saw that there was a squirrel in the trap. I was pleased.
The story could end here but it didn't. After putting in a second trap to continue catching the second and third squirrels and what seemed to be their extended family, the X10 camera saved me even more time and wasted trips into the attic.
Bye Bye Squirrels
Thanks X10
