Or, How I Saved My Koi Goldfish
By Joseph Chiarelli |
Someone in the neighborhood has a cat that loves to eat my goldfish. After the fish were killed the first time, I decided something needed to be done. After some thought, I realized that what I needed was almost in front of me.
I decided to hook up a Universal Module to a zone valve in the ground sprinkler system that waters the area in and around the pond. How it works: I use a Hawkeye Motion Sensor that turns on the universal module, which in turn sprays the animals about to attack my pond! I haven't seen any fish floating in the morning anymore! Thanks X10.
Sincerely,
Joseph Chiarelli

Editor's Note: We received several stories in the following weeks that used a similar setup to keep animals out of yards. An alternate setup included using a water valve attached to a hose trained on a garden. Thanks for your submissions on this subject. We used the first one to arrive in our mailbox!
