The XCam2 Solves a Hate Crime
By David Beaver |
I just want to let you know that the X10 security camera system I purchased was very helpful. I bought the XCam2 to use for fun and games with my wife and kid. However, one day we began finding nasty notes stuck to our door, and we kept on receiving them.
So, one morning I hooked the camera up to a VCR and left for work. When I came home I saw another note on the door, which made my wife and I very upset. It concerned our interacial marriage. Where I live, this is considered a hate crime. I had almost forgotten that I had hooked up the camera to our
VCR until I noticed the VCR's counter. When I played back the tape, my wife and I were shocked by what we saw.
As it turns out, our next-door neighbor was the person leaving the notes. Since we live in an apartment complex, I gave the tape to the complex's manager. By the next day the manager had given my neighbor one day to move out.
These days I still have a camera hooked up at my front and back doors. When someone knocks, instead of getting up to answer I look at the TV. That way if I want to open the door I will, and if not I won't! Thanks X10. I now use the X10 security camera for safety reasons instead of just fun and games.
Sincerely,
David Beaver
