Keeping Track
of Your Teens By Michael Eckhoff |
Hello X10,
I just wanted to write and thank your company and
your people for your products and great customer service.
My teenage children are out of control. They have
been sneaking out at night or even sneaking people into the house while my wife
I are asleep. I even went so far as to to contact Brinks and ADT about a total
house security package, but I just can't see spending that kind of money up
front for equipment costs plus a $20 monthly service fee just to keep track the
kids. We just gave up on the idea, and resigned ourselves to losing sleep from
checking up on the kids, or worse, worried and waiting up for them to get home.
While waiting up late one night, I ran across an
internet ad for the X10
Protector Plus
Voice Dialer security system. I was so interested I tried to call X10 right
then. I was shocked when Roger quickly answered at 2 in morning and was
extremely helpful explaining the system. He said it could work like many other
home alarm security systems, but could also work not as an alarm, but simply to
monitor escapes and entries throughout the house. We put the base
unit in our bedroom and placed
door/window sensors at various points of entry. Now, if the
basement door opens or a bedroom window screen is removed, the base unit rings
a quick tone and at a glance, I know which sensor has been set off. It will
even dial up to 4 different phone numbers if we are away from the house. I got
a call on my cell phone when we were over at the neighbors. It was the
Protector Plus
calling me. I went home and caught my daughter sneaking her boyfriend into her
room.
Thank you X10. You gave us parents a new tool in
our battle with teenagers. It is just a terrific bonus that it works as an
alarm system too.
