Model Railroading Takes On a TrainCam
 | Model Railroading Takes On a TrainCam
By Kevin Coleman |
I am a model railroader and built this car yeterday by modifying one of your cameras and battery packs. I just now saw the article on the O gauge guy. Well, mine was a touch more difficult as I model in H.O., which is half the size of O. My wife and kids sat for 30 minutes watching the video, as if riding the train crossing bridges and going through tunnels.
I started by getting a battery pack to hold 4 AAA batteries and removing the circuit board from your battery pack and mating it to this. Next I cut the camera cable to about 3 inches and resoldered it to the camera's circuit board. This was followed by cutting the excess plastic from the mount for the camera and mounting it in a low clearance car. This was as small a package as I could create and it just barely goes through the tunnels.
Thanks for a great product.
Sincerely,
Kevin Coleman
