I recently invited my 95 year old uncle to share our house. He is mobile with a walker, but unsteady when getting up and is easily disoriented at night. I installed a lamp module for his bedside light and lamp modules in his bathroom and my bedroom. All are activated by a motion detector placed opposite his bed and high enough to only activate when he actually gets up from bed rather than just changing positions.
The lights in his room and the bath help him get oriented and able to move safely and the light in my room awakens me when he is out of bed. I plan to install a low light camera in his room and a bedside monitor in mine to allow me to check for "false alarms" without having to get out of bed and go downstairs.

Editor's note: To do this yourself, you'll need a lamp module, a Hawkeye motion sensor, and a Transceiver module.
