A Gentle Wake-Up Call
February 26, 2002 -
XCams have always been popular with new parents, as they're a great way to keep an eye on baby without disturbing her. Here's another great way to use X10 products with your newborn! Sometimes simple is best.

This one is pretty simple but turned out to be one of those many surprise benefits (neat things) since installing our X10 system.
We have a newborn and a house with no intercom. Often I stay downstairs with the baby and my wife goes upstairs to have a nap. Before X10, when it was time to feed the baby I would either have to yell upstairs (not popular for anyone) or walk upstairs with the baby to get my wife. With X10, from downstairs, I simply turn on a bedside light with our remote to gently wake my wife and indicate it's time for a
feeding. Nice and peaceful and no disturbing the baby.

Editor's note: To do this yourself, all you need is the SuperRemote Home Control Kit. It's only $19.99 and includes everything you need to turn on/off your lights by remote!
