Carl Todd got just such an opportunity; only he wasn’t expecting it. "A while back an old acquaintance dropped in on me unexpectedly," Carl said. And this was a friend that he hadn’t seen for over sixteen years.

Sixteen years is a long time, and so you can imagine that there was a lot of catching up to do. So they spent some time together visiting, revisiting old times. It was a great visit according to Carl. And as usually will happen during the course of the evening, it came time to take her on the grand tour of the house.

"As I toured her the house," Carl says, "I explained that it controlled heating and cooling, automatically." Of course it was also fun watching her face as they would walk from room to room, and the lights would suddenly come on. Then after they were out of the room, the lights would turn off. He also had a remote control in his hands, where he could control the lights and various other appliances automatically.

Needless to say, his friend was very impressed. According to Carl she was so impressed that "she would like to go on a date after sixteen years." And how does he feel about that? Well, here it is in his very own words. "Way to go ActiveHome. Thanks."
