XCam2 Doesnt
Sleep
Christmas is over, weve now entered the new year (and the official start of the new millennium), and
its time to assess the damage. The credit card companies are sending out little reminders
almost nonstop. They've got reminders of everything from travel to meals, to bills for Christmas
presents and other miscellaneous expenditures.
Steve and Marlene Lezier had a little extra on their credit card bill. Someone had
broken their outdoor Christmas lights. But they wouldnt have known who without the help of X10. When
they set up their outside decorations, they took their NightWatch, wrapped it up in a box with
Christmas wrapping paper to look like a decoration, and put it on the front porch where it could see
the yard, and all their pretty sparkling lights that they had set up for the enjoyment of the
neighborhood, and passers-by.
According to Marlene, "Much to our surprise the neighbor boys came to visit,
only to destroy our lights at approximately 2:35 am." The Leziers didnt really notice it though,
until later the next evening when the lights would not turn on. So they ran the tape back, to see
what happened. And from there they had a perfect view of the vandals. "They even had the nerve
to go over to their driveway and stand, and laugh at the damage they had done," Marlene said.
But whatever it was they did, it was all caught on videotape, which of course takes most of the humor
out of it.
After viewing the tapes, you can imagine that the police were called. When they
showed the officer the tape, he was quite surprised and amazed at the quality of the video. According
to him, "The security cameras at the prisons are not this clear." He also made the comment
that with a picture like that at night he could not imagine what the daylight pictures look
like.
Since that night, Steve and Marlene have had no further problems with the young
neighborhood hooligans. And for that, Steve and Marlene sleep a little easier.
"What a wonderful feeling to go to bed knowing that X10 NEVER SLEEPS,"
Marlene says confidently. Then she adds, "Thanks X10, it is because of you we can sleep, resting
assured that we will have a video if anything goes wrong. Even while we are away we know our home is
safer."
And we quite agree. We have done everything in our power to make it safer.
